Norristown code enforcement, and a new hospital rumor

Just to let inquiring minds know, the report due back on the code enforcement department in Norristown, the one that cost, I believe, about $19,000, is not back yet. Actually, we believe it came back but the administration wasn't happy with it so they sent it back to the consultants.

Here's a new one for you. We're still trying to track it down but rumor has it a deal was struck with Wood's Golf Center in East Norriton to put a new hospital on the grounds. Apparently the gas pipe that runs somewhere under the golf course isn't enough to scare away Einstein. What I hear is they can build around it and leave it as open space. My only suggestion for East Norriton is for them, as part of the approval process, to get the hospital to pay to make Germantown Pike four lanes all the way through the township.

Let me get this straight. "The report is not back yet" But you believe it did come back and the administration sent it back to the INDEPENDENT consultants because they were not happy with it. Did you even question what they were not happy about? Was it the format? Was it the content? I don't want to jump to conclusions here but this whole thing stinks to me. This is suppose to be INDEPENDENT. You should accept what the results are. As a tax payer and a subscriber. Let me give you a little advice. GET A BIGGER SHOVEL.

When you do get around to tracking down the rumor about the hospital and Woods Golf Center, couldja please get a comment from the people who own the golf center? You haven't published a peep from them yet. So much for publishing both sides of the story.

So, taxpayers are going to fund bronze plaques for all county police officers who have died in service. Wouldn't it make more sense to prevent similar unnecessary deaths... We could post a bronze plaque that says something like, "Thou shalt not kill" say, someplace like the courthouse...

Stan - Building a Hospital on the Golf Center property has some pluses... The speed on Germantown Pike is 35 - or has it been changed this past week. The Townships/State police should be making quite a bit of $$$ - if they put their you know what into motion. A four lane thru this area would be interesting.

wow, I can't wait to add that traffic to the morning commute, we NEED the 4 lanes...and I don't think the township should pay for it.

I was born in norristown and lived here most of my life. I dont like the changes I see but what gets me is the amount of TRASH that is left on the ground, in the streets oand in the alleys. It is mostly from the low income rental propertys. Its deplodable. AM I the only one who feels this way? On trash day when I put back my cans, I usualy fill one half way from what lays in the alley. Not to mention what I pick up during the week.I am tired of picking up everyones trash. It offends me. What can be done?...
