Election post mortem

What a night. I have to say I was surprised with some of the results and not so much with others. I wasn't surprised at all with the turnout, which was dismal at best. Big shakeups in East Norriton and Lower Providence, and a newcomer to Norristown politics was the highest vote getter. Did your candidate win? I know what I'm thinking, but what are you thinking?

I'm thinking after 13 hours of observing the Republicans in Lower Providence from the Democratic side, there was alot of Kool-Aid drinking and alot of voting out of fear. Making people fear the worst seems to be the best way to win an election. Tisk, tisk. Have people learned nothing from the Bush/Cheney years of fear? Suppose that's too much to expect of simple minds. I'm looking forward to November and a real Supervisors race! Isn't this going to be fun!?

An election is an election and the candidate that proved his/her point won the majority of the votes because they did their homework on each Candidate. Now, we have the November Election that will be interesting. I have my list of candidates that I voted for and the reason why. There was no fear involved, just common sense. So, in November, it will remain the same unless a candidate from the Dem. side proves me wrong. I will close my mind & toss any literature that is received after the last week of October and so do your best before that week. Any literature handed out at the Polls from the Dem.,lawn chair group, will not be accepted nor from the Republicans. See you in November.

I would actually like to thank Mr. Dininny for serving the township. Although we may have disagreed on some things, he was always approachable and willing to listen to the good, the bad, and the ugly( and there's been alot of ugly). It's more than I can say for some of the past Supervisors. You hear alot of rumors floating around about inpropriety and back-door deals and I don't know if any of them are true or not and I suspect neither does anyone else. What I do know is that Mr. Dininny gave up time with his family for many years to be at Supervisor meetings and countless other meetings associated with the job. It's more than most residents would ever do. So, I thank you.

Mr. Huskey;

I would like to thank the 21.3% of voters that came out to vote on Tuesday. Second bestcount in Montgomery County.

I would like to thank the other four candidates for their up front campaigning and truthfullness.

Thanks to Craig and Piero outgoing Supervisors for their dedication to Lower Providence. If only the previous writer knew how much time is taken from their family.

If the previous writer has any facts on past Supervisors, please don't start rumors, state them.

Heinegg & Keenan are 2 hard working, honest, well educated candidates and I'm looking forward to seeing what they can accomplish over the next few months. They have alot of ideas for the township and I think they will show their willingness to work for the betterment of the township. I have met them both and think they are genuine caring individuals. Best of luck to them this Fall.

Not only do the Democratic people complain, so do the Republicans when all the hard work their volunteeers put into making sure everyone and everything was covered for the election and then the turnout was dismal, as you said Stan. In LP we really had three big areas that you would think all voters would make it a must to vote...School Board, Supervisors, District Judge, plus the various County and State Judicial Candidates. One Poster said they should not complain, meaning the nonvoters, if the Taxes and conditions within the Township and County are not how they believe they should be or run. One of our former Supervisors stated that in Australia you are fined if you do not vote...now that has a great ring. Well, the other suggestions is that a voting/nonvoting list should be given to the township supervisors and the schoolboard to make up a Can or Can Not be heard at the meetings. A letter of concerns would be acceptable, by nonvoters, that would be presented to the various boards because they are tax payers. Really - There is No Excuse For Not Voting!

You make some very interesting comments in your blog, but you are very definitely wrong in suggesting making up a "do not speak list" for use at public meetings. Have you not heard of our First Amendment Rights governing free speech? A township or munciplaity would have a federal lawsuit on their hands if they had, and enforced such a list.

You are correct Peninsula Dweller 5/23. Free speech I cherish and it is always extended to the other person no matter what their thoughts may be. In the case of not voting, and then complaining about the various candidates that won and are now or will take office after the Nov. Election, really grinds me.
By the way where in LP/Worcester Area is there a Peninsula or are you living on a flood plane that somehow got an OK?

Well, the election for supervisor is over for the time being and the people's voices were heard. Goodbye Mr. Dininny and Mr. Dougherty, your literature where you took credit for fixing the traffic in Lower Providence proved to be a fatal error. The pictures of no traffic on our roads must have been taken on Sunday morning before most of us wake up. My hat is off to the Republican Committee for taking the position that a change in leadership was necessary, and standing by their decision and producing a major victory on Tuesday. I hear that committeeman Jonathan Perrone was wearing stickers for both opposing candidates, this is just wrong. How can you support both the endorsed and unendorsed candidates, perhaps he should look into resigning his post and have someone with courage and conviction take over. My prediction was that Eckman and Thomas would clearly win this election and set the course for Lower Providence for another 6 years. I heard that Brown and DiPaolo can't get the smiles off their faces, well good for them, they have had to endure the antics of Mr. Dininny for far too long.

In a way, this election was a referendum on the ARC, people are now clear about having this thing go away from here. As much as the Chamber putting out a mailer just before the election that looked like a promotional for D & D, it didn't help their cause. Perhaps Mr. Paschall should look for a new line of work. Again Mr. Dininny lost his own district by a large margin and I hear that Mr. Dougherty just squeaked by in his home district where he worked all day.

Ad a big boo hoo to the residents of Shannondell who are so single minded that the only thing on their mind is the road to be cut through to Park Ave. D & D's pandering for their votes didn't do enough to turn this election around. It is time that the Shannondell residents and Mr. Shorum take note, there is a Lower Providence outside their wall. If they don't mind their ways, people in LP will all know they are selfish and think nothing of the folks who live outside their walls. The community is putting them on notice that we care about our township and there is more to it than Shannondell.

Good comments about turnout. But the reality is that there are a good deal of Independents out there who are currently disgusted with both parties, shut out of primary elections.

Anonymous said...

We need to change the ruling on Voters Rights when it comes to the Primary Elections. Anonymous 5/26 is correct. Although there are usually no Independent Candidates wishing to run unless they have the backing of a sufficient number of voters - they should be able, by voting, to express their choice. Fair is Fair.

To anon of 5/23, get out a map of Lower Providence, if you are a resident you should have received one from the township in 2007 titled township map and directory. If you look at the part of land which is surrounded by the Perkiomen and Schuylkill on three sides, that my friend is a peninsula. That should have been covered in your geography class in the 7th grade.

I think I'd rather vote for the two D's than the glue eater and soccer mom. Together the two of them don't have a functioning brain between them, but that's OK, other people do their thinking for them. At least with the D's you know what you're getting. The other two are D's who pretend to be Republicans. I don't think they have what it takes to beat the D's in November anyway. Craig Dininny would have had them for breakfast.

Anonymous said...

I'll vote for Keenan & Heinegg(sp?) for the simple fact that they aren't tied to anybody and they don't owe anybody anything. I think there may be some tension between Thomas & Eckman. Not sure they knew each other before they got thrown together as the ticket to beat D&D. It was hard to tell from their separate campaign visits to my hosue whether they were on the same page or not. Wierd.

I met Mr. Heinegg at the Shannondell poll ( I live outside of Shannondell) on election day and was very impressed with what he had to say and his reasons for supporting the ARC. He was very well spoken and I think he could be a fresh voice in the township.

Is the road into Shannondell a Road or Driveway to this retirement home? The plans we looked at shows it as a Road that would be connecting Egypt to Park Avenue. What exactly does the State's Plan show? This subject was brought up at a social meeting I attended along with some members of the former "Six Pack". Is it up to the retirement home, Township, State or will it all end up in Court???

Shannondellian said...

To anon,

Shannondell Blvd is a road, not a driveway. When you make a left off of Shannondell Blvd into the complex that is our driveway.

I have looked into this issue as an interested party. From what I understand is that the approved plans include a road to go from Egypt Rd. to Park Ave. That is on the plans and has to be built to satisfy the requirements of the township's ordinance and land development plans.

It is not a Pendot road, Mr. Neilson has applied to Pendot for a road opening permit at Park Ave. All the stream crossing permits and culverts have been completed for the new road.

This road is to be built in two phases, the part that is built is phase one and the remaining one is phase two which has to be completed before the 1000 unit is built.

I got this information from one of the supervisors who was quite candid with me. As someone who lives in Shannondell and wants to see the road completed for my own personal safety and that of others living here. I know it is not a good idea to express my views publicly so I will remain anonymous for this blog. I am not the only one living here that feels this way but to say publicly how I feel would bring the rath of some rebel rousers onto me and my spouse.

This is certainly not an issue with the court, it is a land development plan that is on the books. It should be completed sooner than later is how a lot of us feel.

Stan: Dem people are still looking for election post mortem comments. Ask Bob where his Repbulicans live and where they actually voted. You won't have to dig too deeply because they know how to shovel it. Ghost voting is illegal, right?

Anonymous said...

Ambulances go into Shannondell several times a week to The Meadows medical facility which is all the way at the back of the complex. It doesn't appear to be a problem from what I can see or any big safety concern. Why did they open a medical care facility at the back of the complex if access was a problem? Seems like eveything is running smoothly and has been for several years so I don't see the need for another access point. Seems more like a cut-through road for traffic, not a safety concern.

Anonymous said...

Call it what ever you might - but this is one development that needs to have a thru street. As for the special hospital care unit, that should definitely have a thru road from Park Avenue. I know we have the air-lift, because of the noise level over the community, but that does not cut it.

Anonymous said...

What would be the purpose of the cut-through from Park? It wouldn't alleviate any traffic congestion in the areas where it's needed. Mostly it would just be a convenience for those living in Shannondell. Residents can drive around to Park like everyone has been doing for years. Maybe it should be a limited access road for emergency vehicles only.

Anonymous said...

Yes it would primarily be a convenience for those living in Shannondell, and I think they are pretty much overwhelmingly on record as voting for the candidate who opposed opening the road. I bet even if the road does go in, it winds up having speed humps or other nonsense so that any traffic that does try to shortcut through takes forever to do it. So much for saving time. I'd love to be the cop who gets to do ticket duty on that strip of road. Ka-ching!

Anonymous said...

6/23 - you totally missed the point of a thru street. When congestion occurs on Park, Egypt and Trooper or the 422 Bypass - the need for all and any street that is clear to get there from here would be necessary. That being said, it is not necessarily for just Shannondell, but for WN, UP and LP . Our emergency vehicles can not fly!

Anonymous said...

How about Crawford Rd., Buckwalter Rd., Wedgewood Way.? All are cut-throughs already to Park/Egypt. Putting another cut-through in a retirement community doesn't seem like a safe idea. Seems like adding to the problem which is we can't control the amount of traffic through the area. There are too many people trying to get to 422 via Egypt Rd. at rush hour. That isn't fixable with a cut-through road at Shannondell. As someone said earlier, emergency vehicles have been going in and out of Shannondell for several years now without incident. What's the need for another road? I get it was part of the original development plan but maybe it just isn't necessary.

Anonymous said...

New Supervisors in LP and UP, please take note of the OK for building of shops on the corner of Pinetown Road and Egypt...Wawa was turned down - why then would this great fill lot, to bring it up to specks because of the low area along the river, be OK for a shopping area? Well, yes slip it in before the November Election, just like getting permits for home additions, that are usually very iffy before the new crew can settle in. The traffic is being looked into - we just maybe will see another traffic light?? That would make 7 in less than approx. a mile and a half. Poor planning I would say!

Anonymous June 17th.

If you were in your 80's and lived on a cul-d-sac with 2000 residents on it what would your feelings be then. One way in & one one out is not the answer.

The road was not considered a cut through when it was approved, it was considered a life line for the residents of Shannondell.

I wish the people who are trying to use this subject as an election vote getter please hang it up.

Put it to rest, with all the new regulations being imposed by the State and Feds. the owner would have to pay a bundle to go through the process again.

Anonymous said...

I'm not discussing this as an election vote getter as I'm not a candidate. I'm discussing it as a voter who thinks opening the road at Shannondell is one of the most ridiculous ideas I have ever heard of. And I'm not over 60 so no, I'm not a resident there.

Shannondell Road/Drive - I believe a report in todays TH said there are 800 residents. Now, when this retirement home is completed, what is the total number of residents that can be counted on? If a deadend street, one way in and out (not referring to their life span)for these seniors is considered OK, then why was it included in the plan to begin with? Crawford is a thru street with a light and does not have travelers going thru any development. Buckwalter and Wedgewood you bet are considered cut thru streets, as is Thrush, Lantern & Sparrow. We complain, but with a little help from the Police, all of these cut thrus can be managed. The answer is Law enforcement that will slow down traffic or making one way streets with no left turns/right turns during certain hours. The only problem with cut thru streets is street parkers and children playing. The latter does not apply to Shannondell. Shannondell's driveway enters on to Shannondell Blvd. So, what is their problem? After a few more apartments are up and running, they will understand the need for this street to be extended from Egypt to Park. It's a non issue!

I am surprised after the Primary, our people (D) have not discussed the new County and Township's agenda. August is too late. Where are we going, now that we are the majority? My neighbor said she has heard from the Republicans and the possibility on the Mile Hill project. Well, I do not suppose the Prison was the only subject or maybe that is all that is on their minds right now.

Thanks for listening.

AN OPEN LETTER TO CHAIRMAN KERNS:

Please don't get involved in this dispute with your two winning candidates in L.P. Township.

The paper stated that the Supervisor in East Norriton wants his name removed from the November ballot with the Republican Committee persons electing a candidate to replace him.

If it comes down to that in L.P. please use the same common sense and keep your two cents out of the mixture.

It's well known that your firm represents L.P. as Solicitor and by you doing any advising would be a confict of interest. By losing two of your top supporters could hurt your continuance as such.

You could turn L.P. into a November
fiasco with two Democrats being elected. Could be a good thing for L.P.

Will your donation to the Eckman and Thomas campaign involve you in this law suit? Your money may have been used to pay for the mailer everyone seems to be concerned about. Your partner seems to be a donor also.

Thank you for listening. Other Townships you represent are watching and listening how their leader---leads.

I don't think you have to worry about Kerns he didn't get involved before and it's unlikely he will now. Although if he were smart, considering that LP butters his bread, he probably should have. Well either way, no matter who is in office, he's probably gone come January.

We talk about thin skin when it comes to various people who run or have run for office, well Mescaro should let it go with a letter to the County and Township explaining the error. I can not find any literature on the complaint, but it is possible I tossed it. If the two candidates were responsible for misinformation, then they should admit it and this should go out to all township residents. Too many lawyers are being made rich over small family and community mis-spoken facts. We have known the Mescaro family for many years, all thru grade school and high school and this is really not their style, but maybe the lawyers.

The election is over and now how much did the "D" party and "R" party spend on down grading their opposition. During the Clinton Administration our Attorney General really clamped down on frivilous complaints that many felt should have been looked in to. Many times she was wrong. Now, we have an Attorney General that spends most of his time finding fault with previous administrations and can not see how we should advance and spend less money on things that will not change the past, but if he tried his future and the Parties Future would and should be changed for the better. So, how much was spent on law suits during the Clinton and Bush Administration to prove to we mortals that their way of doing business was incorrect.

The Prison is over flowing in more than one way and really needs expansion. Building on brings the problem of sewage. Exactly who should pay for this addition? We have had it here in Lower Providence with Moyers Dump, the Prison no one wanted and now they are being dumped on again. The Prison System needs to open their eyes and look at the living quarters near the court house where there is facilities in place - the Sacred Heart Hospital. The walls are firm and limited number of weekenders or short termers would be close to the source when they were to appear in court. It would be a win, win situation for all.

Back to the County's problem with their Prison. I do believe our Prison Board does not understand plumbing...No - it does not run up hill! Where would you suggest the water closet out-put be diverted to?
There is a simple solution.. Why not use a building our County has that is causing them so much grief - Sacred Heart Hospital Building. The hookup is there, etc. Don't plan and build another prison - update what we have.

There is another solution - make PA a DRY STATE! The over crowding is usually because of weekenders or short termers. No, that would end up costing us more, because the State Hospital facility is trying to down-size.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous 8/24
Speaking of the over-crowding at our famous Eagleville and the offenders that occupy the prison on weekends. Why are the famous bars and suppliers of the booz not fined? Yes, that would be the State of PA too - the Liquor Control Board. I know they are aware of establishments having license that really "push the Booz" are causing the overcrowding, so it would just make sense if they were fined too.

The State controls our Liquor purchases and our people are trying to make the establishments flourish and the Counties fine the offenders and have them as guests for weekends...exactly where is the state of PA making money?
In the long run there is a need for larger prisons, help for the overdoers and a trained staff to make sure it is all accomplished.

Round and Round!

Maybe a DRY STATE would be the answer. I'll bet the home-brew and grape growers on our south 100 feet of land would flourish. A lot of home entertainment would take place when the brew is ready and the grape juice has been bottled for a few months.

Round and Round!

There is one thing our family has agreed on --- no more TV news programs. We are going to get our news from the three newspapers we read every day and make up our own minds. We all have the ability to check out the Federal Government's comings and goings.
Remember Mr. Obama said "Turn Off Your TV"... NO PROBLEM!

We only listen to music on the Radio - try it!

Silence! Would it not be great ?? It will not be for long. Our Dem. State Committee has called twice today..enough!

Anonymous said...

Yes they are starting early, we too got THE CALL but I just laugh and hang up - MY PARTY has not started yet. October would be soon enough!

Oh the Posters on various Blogs have been coming up with quite a few LOL this last week.
One was that the former Democratic Fund Raiser, Norman Hsu, was directing the Democratic Parties Fund raising from prison - after all he did only make off with 50 million. But, of course he did apologize before he was sentenced - that made it OK by Mr. Obama's standards and Hillary (she returned how much?).
The most current today was on the "Speakers Tour" and the major fundraisers requests for their special events. It seems that Joe Wilson, S.C. with his "You Lie!" outcry has the top of the list for many organizations (other than political) but the dollars will follow. The accounting has shown that Bill Clinton with his "because I could" statement was the reason most people were soo proud of him and wanted him as a speaker - maybe it was because they needed some new hints?
Well, anyway it is now getting interesting, although the above does not solve our health or war situations.

Started today! Our first "Please Contribute" - remember a Credit Card may be used, but it must be your personal one - not that of your employer/corporation. Let's start with $1,000.00 and go down to $25.00. Yah right!

Yes and now our local Union Workers are joining in the talks at out favorite watering hole ..LOL
Well, it is October and two months until election day. The candidates referred to? Oh, they are not on this ballot until next year! Actually this is only a reminder, I guess.

How about the Tuesday Roundtable Group - are they back from vacation? It will be interesting to hear from them and other groups that had so much to say in the spring.

Anonymous said...

Not too sure about the Roundtable Group, but the Six Pack+ had dinner in Blue Bell.

Closing up the seasonal and now it's back to our County News. It sure isn't changing much. I had a visit from our Committee and so did my so called "Better Half" and they are playing it cool until next year's Primary. That sounds good to me. Keep your literature received in the mail - it makes good reading during the winter.

Check with your Committe up at the Union Hall - I'm sure one or two have dinner with one or sometimes both of these groups. You know we here in Montgomery County have very large closets that are used by both "D" and "R".

Sure glad I don't live in New Jersey - now there is really dirty politics. When you decide to run in that state your whole family is up for grabs.

Have people learned nothing from the Obama/Biden months of change and shuffling of funds? It appears not. One poster back in the spring called most citizens simple minded if they did not agree with the our new administration's leaders. Tell me how your life has changed now that we are in deep do do financially and nothing has changed with the wars, except maybe it will be extended into two more countries. Is your job more safe and there are no cut-backs? Your children are now out of HS or College, did they find a job? Doing what? Don't rent out their bedroom - they will need it for some time. So, far so good for our family, but we work longer hours for the same pay - salaried of course. Car production has resumed, but not too many factories are running full steam, because Foreign Cars, are the choice of most people that have enough money to afford a new car. Yes, GM has resumed production, but exactly where? Yes, in Canada - another import from one of our great American Co. that outsourced the production. Have we changed the heads of our Federal Finance Committee - you know the big Fanny & Freddy pushers? Did you say transparency - that is a laugh.
I believe Mr. Obama could make some headway if he started the CCC
in Lousiana and the housing would be the mobile homes that are stacked throughout the south.
As for local races it really is going to be fun and thin skinned people that are hurt because little true facts came out. Why not say I'm sorry and let it go at that because you can not always know what the left hand is doing. As for former Supervisor that builds a house that is listed as a "Shed" and now would like to change the plans - he has nerve and the OK from the Township should never have been- Down it comes! Where is the Zoning Inspector? He did it because he could?
I do not see any difference in how our government is run or is heading - same thing, same thing as the last two administrations.

There is some good news in todays CNN Reports - Emanuel, White House Chief of Staff gives permission to the Administration Officials to appear on the FOX NEWS NETWORK. This is another "May I".. What has taken this Administration so long to understand there always has been two sides to a story.
The Health Care Problem - It seems that Burris, Obama's Home State Senator is in conflict with the whole bill, including Snow and Carper's version. They need how many votes - I believe 60 would do it. But back to Fox - a little understanding that ALL NETWORKS should be included when discussions and up-dating any Federal Decisions or a Want List appropration should include CBS,NBC,ABC CNN and always FOX that has a great following including the "Sports"... Good Football Coverage wasn't it this weekend?

Oh that "Fox" it really starts the tongues flapping. Nancy Pelosi is trying to splain her close support of Charles Rangel? This is interesting, because people back in California would like to know.. Why? Today Hillary explaining how well things are going in Iraq and how various electronics are being used. We also sent companies over there to see how we can "help" them with Our Goal. What I did not hear was the time line all this started and by which Administration. It does take a lot to swallow, doesn't it? REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT, GEORGE W. BUSH.

Hillary has great ideas - bring students over to the US for training. Why not have the government train their own people and decide exactly how they want their government run now and in the future. We can not keep feeding them, using our Universities, when our own students are paying through the nose just to get by. If companies from the USA feel their comapny could outsource more of their production - then so be it. We should not give these companies any "tax" breaks. That is only common sense.

Did I hear correctly - "Fox" hurt our President's Feelings? That has happened to all Presidents - grin and bear it. Harry Truman was a great President who told the media exactly what he tought. Not too friendly as I remember.

In LP the Dem. Candidates were interesting - I'm still thinking on Novembers Election and change. But there was one older gentleman, quiet spoken, that we found interesting. He always carried an umberella. The jokes of course were great - but the one that carried the most LOL was where is the "Red" Umbrella, that says you are covered. Guess he does not have financial backing from that company. We will probably hash some of these topics over this eve.

We are almost there on deciding on the people we are going to vote for. Our Polling place is St. Andrews in Audubon. I understand they will be celebrating their 50TH Anniversary this Sunday. I would like to say "Thank You!" for all you have done and are doing for this community.

Anonymous said...

The 50th Anniversary and still going strong at St. Andrews Lutheran Church. We Seniors meet there every Monday and have been for quite a long time to play cards. Thank You for a great day out!

I attend quite a few Township Meetings, but now it seems the Dem. Committee needs to explain what the Republicans are planning on doing if they are elected vs their plan? I do not need any more junk mail and I can hear every word that is expressed at our meetings. How do I get off their mailing lists? I would hope they were aware that my husband is the Dem. and right now he is having second thoughts about his parties' candidates.

Hope there is a disclaimer on the printed words.

Tuesday Election is all about the JUDGES in PA - no matter which party, come out and vote .... We do have the LOCALS TOO YOU KNOW! I'm glad Mr. Obama has had the common sense to hang on to the Bush Administrations Military Experts. Alas newbees have really been showing their colors and once again it is not too good. There isn't any Kool-Aid this time around it is the Hard Stuff.

Well we can't burn our trash, but my backyard could use a little fill. A young fellow came around last week and said he will pickup yard waste and old furniture on a monthly basis. That sounds great! But, I'll wait until the bids are reviewed, and election is over with all the TRASHING!

Anonymous said...

The election is over, come Wed. - now what? Money, feelings and contracts need special attention if the County, Townships or any community is to survive. No more changes to an already firm commitment regarding any construction and roads, bids must be given to the bidder with the bid that is low and consideration for various personal situations that were included in the original contract. Clean up the acts and stop making exceptions, because they are your friends or that you worked with them on committees.

It was Election Day here in LP - NO SCHOOL! Why? No, it was not for first-timers that turned 18 could vote - it is because of location of the Polling Places. Are other Townships having the same problem? We need someone to check out our County Election Board and find out, with all the new building going on, why there isn't enough "activity rooms" that could be used and keep the kids in school.

Anonymous said...

I often wondered the same thing - why use the schools? We have Township Buildings, Firehalls and Clubs that are usually on the rolls of the Townships/County - why not use them? Our Fire Company (2) in our Township would be ideal - great building and parking too. The newly financed Club (swim, etc.) should be used, they are certainly in to quite a few $$$ to the LP Township. The Churches have always opened their doors for any Public Need. So, keep the Schools open and put your thinking hats on down there in Norristown - it really should not take too much time and energy to accomplish this task.

Anonymous - it's all greek
to me too. Did you say your ballot was only in Spanish? Oh so,then life in the USA when a person is unable to write in the homeland language is not all that great. Check out the China to English Language Lessons - they are great.
