Election Day Drama

I know it's going to happen somewhere, so drop me a line and let me know if it's taking place at a poll near you. As is tradition on Election Day I don't get to the newsroom until later in the afternoon so let's get the party started, no matter which side of the aisle you sit on. Any predictions?

Stan, I guess I blew that one

A Democrat gets elected in Lower Providence!

The only drama is with Rush, Beck and Palin.

There wasn't any drama where I voted.

Stan: It was nice to vote at our new voting place in Lower Providence. The 3-3 moved from Arcola School to the church on Sunnyside Ave. No parking problems, No construction, and you felt like you were blessed when you left the building.

Lunch Break and the total was a little over 90 in LP. The Rep. Committee was represented, but no Dem. - why? My husband was truly disappointed after making so many phone calls.

As much as I'd love to see a Dem. get elected to the LP Supervisor's board, it will never happen. Dems are way outnumbered in LP and even with the split in the Republican party, it still won't be enough to put them over the top. Gotta give them props for tryin' though. This will be the closest they will ever come in my lifetime.

Congratulations to the Republican Supervisor's Elect Colleen Eckman and Don Thomas. Both will do an excellent job come January 2010.

Now that Eckman and Thomas are now the elected Supervisors we may be able to find out what happened to that $10,000 given to the Dininny & Dougherty campaign AFTER the primary election. Did the Democrats see any of that money for advertising? How many Republican Committee people work the poles for Democrats? That will all come out in the wash when they run next year. Every dog has it's day.

Told You So...You Gotta Believe!

It's polls, not poles. There are some dumb people in LP. Are there any Republicans in LP that can articulate properly? I have yet to find one. It's tough being smarter than everyone you meet in LP.

What is the saying and rule of law regarding Religion and Government?? Have you then noticed the switch to Churches when it comes to Polling Places? I do remember our Churches or any house of worship during the WWII had the 24/7 Policy in regard to the availability for everyone to come in and rest the body and mind - a feeling of being safe from everything and the whole world in fact - maybe because there is someone looking out for us?? So, Government & Churches will always go hand-in-hand no matter which Party is in charge... "One Nation Under God!"

Hey, I believe the writer was refering to some Republican Committe people working the POLES, Just like working the Italians, Irish, and what ever nationality you wish. What are you some kind of English teacher pushing for a raise? If your smarter than some people in L.P, why are you living here? Try the main line. According to the election yesterday, I do not believe it's the Republicans that are dumb. Try looking in the mirror.

No, I'm pretty certain they weren't referring to Polish people. Funny that you admit those living on the Main Line are smarter than those living in LP. That pretty much says it all doesn't it?

I love being atheist and voting in a church. It's just so hilarious and feels a little bit underhanded all at the same time.

Thanks for proving my point. It's referring (2 r's) not refering.

A very sincere thank you to the Pastor of Valley View Community Church and his congregation for the use of their church on election day. Believe it or not, I concur with Mr. Borai, I felt a certain good feeling after leaving the church. Please may the powers to be,continue to keep 3-3- here.

ll/4 -Glad you enjoyed the experience the majority of us have. Come join us any day of the week - we are always open and you,an Atheist, will have another type of experience.

I believe they were making a joke - a play on words and spelling. It's funny - Ha! Ha!

No thanks. I've lived happily for 50 years not believing in anything supernatural but I can certainly see why people are drawn to religions. The need to belong is not one I've ever coveted but many do for "fear of the unknown". One can be good without God. I and my family are proof of that.

Yes, the Republicans are showing their colors - not a washed-out version. The old scout song goes..."We're on the Upward Trail" seems to fit the climate now.

If you believe you can do withoout GOD, where do you think you and your family came from??

And your Mother and Father?

And your Grandparents?

Oh ye of little faith, we shall pray for thee.

I get the Poles/Polish joke but they spelled referring wrong which is even funnier. Another Republican who can't articulate.

You are correct - the saying is "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged"...Don't ask and I will not tell where the saying came from. Have a great life - "The best is yet to come"!!!

I think the best is right here on planet Earth. To me, there is no greater joy than living each day right here. I don't believe in an afterlife. Like I said, nothing supernatural. It doesn't matter to me how we got here, just being a good human being while we are here. Why does it matter to you how we got here? It doesn't change anything does it?

Anonymous said...

I know how I got here. And I continually thank my parents for it. I do know that I will be going to a much better place when my saviour calls. That's why I try to be good to my fellow man while I'm visiting here on earth.

I hope you'll be good to your fellow atheists as well and not just those who are like you. Isn't that what Jesus would do? I thank my parents too for bringing me in to the world.
In "we" I mean us as a civilization ( I think you were just making a joke, I hope). I know when I die, I'll just go in the ground like every other living thing on the planet and decay away to make new dirt which in turn, makes new life. That's it, game over.

Many quotes - But the truth is that actually we all will return to dust/earth and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it - The Third Book, Old Testament. So, a believer or non-believer - that's the way it is!

I take it from your blog you will not be buried ina casket. It better be your back yard. There are certain laws in this state that you are contained in a casket enclosed by a vault. Happy motoring. Hope to see you there, or where ever.

Anonymous said...

Nope. Cremated and buried under a tree somewhere...doesn't really matter. I don't believe in spirits so I won't be floating up in the sky either as that is another supernatural occurance.
Back to the topic- voting in a church is fine as long as no one tries to push their religion on those who are there to do one thing-VOTE! It is a very nice polling place and nice of the Pastor to make that arrangement with the voter services folks so that all residents can exercise their right to vote.

Yes indeed - use the Churches or any house of worship on an off day, except for the Seniors that meet in most churches is a great idea. The Kids are in School where they should be and we all get our Tax Dollars Worth or part of it from School Taxes Paid. A sitter will not be needed, for most kids in Grade School, that is truly costly.

Frick and Frack lost another one! The judge said "No Way!" on their take on the Ethics Policy. The cost for this should come out of the Private Funds of Frick and Frack.

Exactly what is written in the Job Description for various employees? Use of or not permitted: Personal "E", Phone and correspondence during working hours should be included. That Mr. Huffel, aka Hoeffel, should end your outrage and bring your blood pressure down quite a bit. Make it simple and not so much showmanship would help in your bid for a higher office. I think you protest too much all the time.

Angry as hell said...

I think it is high time that people like Joe Huffel who have been feeding at the public trough have to get a real job where they have to do a days work for a days pay. As long as I have known Joe he has been a career politician. He started out as a county commissioner, was a state representative, was a congressman, ran for U. S. Senate, lost, and now is back where he started. Then I hear that he is running for Governor, what nonsense this makes, he should have to get a job like everyone else, It just makes me mad as hell and I am not going to put up with this anymore. It is time to through this guy and guys like him out on the street and make them got to work for a living. The tell us what kind of health care we will have and then they get the best for themselves, I can't take it anymore. Pigs at the trough is what I say, how about the rest of you, the silent majority????? I am angry with all these goings ons.
